To get into university, you have to first complete a pre-university course.

📌 If you want to further your education at a tertiary level, there are many pathways open to you. STPM is an example of a pre-university course.

  1. Congrats on finishing SPM and your last year of secondary education! If you're like most SPM-leavers (actually, STPM-leavers as well), you're probably wondering what to do next.
  2. Well, there are many pathways to tertiary education open to you. However, the snapshots below are broad overviews and do not encapsulate the whole picture.
  3. We encourage you to lead your own learning and Google any information you think you lack.

Things to consider in choosing your post-SPM/STPM pathway

📌 The challenge is choosing a pathway that is suitable to your interests and current needs. Make good decisions for yourself!

  1. With so many options, how do you know which is the best one for you? After listing down all the pathways and course choices you are keen to explore, then what?

  2. The first thing to do is list down what type of learner profile you are. Understanding what learner profile you identify with can uncover more about your reasons for wanting to go on to higher education and how you can start to think about your choices.

  3. After determining your Student Profile, give some thought to the 3Ls (Location, Learning, and Lifestyle). The 3Ls can help you understand what is most important to you when making decisions about university.

  4. Last, it is important to identify the barriers that may shift you off course your choices.
